Package Design: Tarot Tree Germination Kit

Tarot Trees is a concept for a line of tree germination kits based on the idea and imagery of tarot cards. The meaning behind the specific tarot card is linked with the meaning behind the tree it is paired with. For example, the tarot card “The Empress” and the apple tree both symbolize fertility and nature. I have taken a more contemporary and minimal approach to the traditional old-style illustrations of tarot cards. The images illustrated and colors chosen are meant to evoke feminine energy, while the typeface choices are meant to emulate the mystique and spiritual nature of tarot readings. The front side of the cans imitate the style and construction of a tarot card, with the number assigned to the card, the title, and the illustration, which has each tree implemented. The labels and accompanying tarot card inserts are printed on matte card stock. To achieve the foil shimmer on the labels, I first wrapped the label around the can and attached it so the foil wouldn't bend/crack.
