The visual style uses the bright red and gold foil of traditional red envelopes, using illustrations of traditional lanterns, koi fish which hold meaning in Lunar New Year history, and the foliage of Hoa Mai trees which represent the spirit of the holiday.
The typefaces chosen continue the traditional style of the project while maintaining an elegance that is respectful of the holiday. I created the illustrations and designed the logo used on the truck, menu, and loyalty card. Overall, this design is about a cultural experience.
Overall, this design is about providing a cultural experience. The entire project was inspired by the new cultural experiences I am lucky to experience because of my partner and his family.
